I named this project after my kids. I think there are a lot of changing tides in the bike industry that are exciting and innovative, but I came up as a racer in the mid 2000‘s during what I would consider an almost golden period of cycling style, evolution and funk. It was the era where electronic shifting and disc brakes were being introduced, and also the era of track bikes and messenger alleycats blowing up. It was also, for racing, the era of cyclocross explosion in the US, and the era of Lance’s downfall.

I’ve watched the racing scene in the US disintegrate, gravel explode, and road bikes start to all look like spaceships. I’ve also seen a gorgeous, blooming focus on inclusivity, an explosion in women’s cycling, and moved to Oregon, where racing is a whole different thing altogether.

In 2023, I decided to build up my dream bike from when I was first getting into the scene. I resto-modded a 1995 Klein Quantum Race with 9000 series Dura Ace and hand-built tubeless Enve wheels. The experience taught me that old stuff can be incredible to ride and look at, and sent me down a rabbit hole of byegone racing aesthetic and technology. I began working on a couple of fun little things to make as gifts for friends and myself, and A&B was born.

I hope you don’t take anything on this website too seriously. All of it is simply stuff I wanted, and thought others might too. It’s likely going to change a lot. I appreciate anyone’s support thru purchases, but also would love to hear your own stories and ideas for things to make. Send me an email!

Best,

Evan
